HE GETS IT! You're absolutely right. When you're asking what was "Corvette's most DOMINANT performance", the cost of the car doesn't matter one whit. Yugo, Corvette, or Ferrari, doesn't matter. Why? b/c you're only comparing various facets of the ONE CAR; the Corvette. The discussion isn't involving any other cars, or the value thereof. Talking value of those facets is found in other threads.

More straw man. Drama, I say.

What do YOU think is the Corvette's most dominant performance, Aklim?

Panty wetting and dropping at that time. Obviously, it has been surpassed my many others today. Runner up if you don't care about what it costs for what you get AND speaking in the past, Stick for Autocross type and auto for Drag.

Copy that. That's a new one. I'll take your word for it; I had neither the car, nor the "game" at that time, to wet or drop any panties.

I think a fun car on the cheap would be a '91 Coup with a 6 speed and Z51 suspension option. I would set it up for Road Course with suspension tuning, serious wheels, tires and unbelievably good Wilwood Brakes. Put a 3.55 gear in it, LT-4 Hot Cam, Trick flow heads with the right intake and injectors, long tube headers with a streetable exhaust system. These motors will make reliable 450 horsepower and with a 6 speed, great tires and brakes will eat a road course up!!

You could have a great little streetcar and a "Weekend Warrior" for some amateur road cours fun on the weekend.

If you had the car when it was new, it adds "game" to your lack of. We take you in a 2020 C8 to pick up girls and then try it with a 2020 Honda Accord and see the difference

I tried TFS heads with a LPE short block. The even side had loose valves and one of the upgraded springs broke and the valve kissed the piston and I kissed the short block goodbye. We didn't find out till the machine shop was trying to refresh the heads abs found that all the valves were wobbling in the head. I cheapest out and bought their crap to save a few bucks.

I have used trick flow 195 heads on my cars and they have performed well. The issue with the twisted wedge heads and most people set them up wrong and that caused failures of the guides and eventually heads.

IDK about 195 heads. I had the Twisted Wedge heads that were advertised as slightly less than AFR or LPE massaged heads for quite a bit less money when they came out. What was set up wrong? I know we ordered it with the heavy duty package from the factory so we didn't set that part up. How could we have muffed up the install to cause the guides on the right side to all be wobbly from the install but the left was fine? It was the #4 (either exhaust or intake) that broke the spring. I replaced the spring temporarily. When we got the heads removed and were looking into freshening them up, the engine shop said that as soon as the springs came off, all the valves wobbled in the heads. He stopped work till I came to look at them. After which he changed the guides and then smoothened the chamber and we sold it off and got AFR 190cc heads.

I will, to this day, regret saving the money on the heads. I should have gotten LPE to send the a long block or at least use AFR heads instead of the TFS. Lesson learned that I can't afford cheap stuff.

I hear you....but I was so terrified of girls back then....I'd repel them on the rare occasion that one approached me. Some "history of Tom", time....
When I was in college, I had a sweet Jeep. Yellow, jacked up CJ5 with a 360, side pipes, cage, and other interesting/cool/unique features. It was awesome...and girls loved it. One day I'm driving through campus in the Jeep, maybe 15 mph?.... and I see my roommate's HOTTIE girl friend and all her hottie, sorority sisters walking along the road. They saw me, we waved and right as I got to them, she yells to stop! and they all start yelling to stop. I hit the brakes, stop and they all swarm around the Jeep. Probably 10 of them? 12? HOT, ripe, young college girls. "What's going on? What do they want? What's going to happen next?"...I wonder. My HOT roommate's girl asks me, "Hey, can you give us a ride in you Jeep?" She asks me...and there is my "in". Oh ,my...the possibilities! Unfortunately, I didn't see it that way. How *I* saw it was more like:
"Holy ****....PANIC!; I don't know where to take them that is cool, I don't know what to talk about that's cool....This is a ******* disaster and I need to get out of this situation immediately!" -that's what I was thinking, so I replied to her/them, "I don't think there's enough room in this Jeep for all you girls."
....and stuck it in first gear and drove off. WTF!? Yep, that's right. That's where my game was at, back then. As I drove away, I knew I was the biggest dumbass ***** on campus....I thought about driving around the block pulling up to them again and saying, "Just joking! Jump in!"....but then I thought that really, it would be best for me to just drive to Mars and never come back.

No....there wasn't a car in existence that could have helped my "game", back then. Fortunately, I was eventually able to turn it around, to where the car doesn't even matter.

OK. You win. A C8 back then couldn't help if you turned it down when they want to get in. New game plan. C8 and lots of alcohol for YOU

LOL...there you go. That may have worked. I may have gotten some action...or a DUI and a wrecked C8.

Wrong push rod lengths that side load the valve and wear out the guides.

They were from the same pack but only one side was worn out. All 8 on the passenger side but the driver side was OK. If it was wrong, is it possible to be that way? Lifters were replaced too. I'm certain that all was installed by LPE. I sent them the heads and they installed it. Engine lasted for a couple years.
