I have the MSD 6A and am still trying to set it up....but there is just no room under the hood of my '84 vette...I've seen all the ways to set it up but none make any sence to me...can anyone give me pic's on where would be a good place to set-up this MSD 6A system????
I know I've asked this before...but.....give me a hand..
thanks

Mine is in the storage compartment behind my driver seat.. That's where all my nitrous relays are located as well. Plenty of room, and away from engine heat.
Well you may or may not be able to do it where I did, I'm just not sure about the 84. My 92 has the electric AIR pump mounted up front under the driver's side headlight. I removed that a long time ago when I installed the headers so that left me room to install the MSD.
Mine is also in the storage compartment behind the drivers seat. I made a harness with weatherpak connectors and tucked it neatly behind the rocker panel and up to a small painless wiring ATO fuse block near the battery. You can't even tell anythings been changed looks totally factory.
Look in tech tips. I posted a tip on how to make a mounting bracket to put your MSD in the passenger side headlight area. It's pretty easy, and costs about $3 for materials. If you have problems, email me.
Scorp,. how do you like the dig6?
I'm trying to decide on a betetr ignition than my 'in-cap' coil, but
have heard some screw with the tach and cmoputer too much..

Well the digi-6 doesn't get rid of hte in-cap coil, it just puts more juice through it. I like it so far. It provides a ton of functions. I did burn up 2 coils already, but that may of been because I had the stock high resistance HEI bushing in my cap. I have since upgraded to the MSD low resistance HEI bushing. I am hoping that cures it. I'll know as soon as I get the car running again.
I put my box under the driver's side headlamp of my '85. You could also put it under the passenger side, but the driver's side is easier for wiring. I have the MSD from TPIS, and it came with the harness that made wiring super easy. I will tell you that I am not using the rubber mounts, because of height limitations under the headlamp. But it has been over 4 months since install, and not one problem - she runs great, the MSD was a great addition. :seeya
My 6-AL(little did I know I was even getting one!) was installed during my DFI install. It's located right near the charcoal cannister. So far so good. :p:
Well, I'm not sure how the '84 compares to the '92, but I put mine under the passenger headlight. My brother-in-law built a custom brace for it to sit on. Here's a pic of it...
