Default BCM body control module 16155502

Hi Everyone, I am sure someone has asked this. BCM for a 91 auto. I gave my corvette to a mechanic who is fairly switched on with problem solving. My dash LED lights have segments that don't light up.They do come alive if I do some "drive like you stole it" routines.
He has asked for advice on the internet and someone has told him its either the BCM or a module that plugs into the back of the dash. A few years ago I had a dash from a friend from a 91 but it acted the same with led segments not working. I not sure that dash module is the answer nor is the mechanic.
We checked the BCM earth wire and it was showing a fault so he ran a new wire but didnt help the LED dash segments.
In short ,shall I upgrade the BCM with a new unit, recon or used? If so what should I pay and is ebay the best source?
With the dash module I am not sure its name and part number so would apprecate that.
Being based in Australia, the spare parts will have to come from the US. A few names would be apprecated.
Regards

Neville

I would maybe find a new mechanic. That may be hard in your location. If you mean some of the lights on your instrument cluster or the LCD display doesn't work properly? Pictures would be help. You can't just swap the CCM (not BCM in the Corvette world). It stores your mileage and vin and vats number. Check out Batee.com Also post your codes from your CCM and ECM
