I have attached a couple of pictures. One being the current set up of the oil pressure sending unit on my 84. The PO installed an aftermarket gauge that bi-passes the digital dash as it was broke. In order to bring this back to original I feel like I need to remove that plumbing I have circled, and put in a new sending unit. I have attached a picture of the part that I ordered. Standard part PS155 is what I was sent.
I guess I just need reaffirmation of what I need to do. The threads on the Standard part look to be a bit big but we'll see. I have not found the connection that would go into the blade end of that part and may need to run a new wire for it. At least not yet.
That is not the correct part for 1984 Corvette. It should be 3 connectors. It is a combined oil pressure sender and oil pressure switch.
On the instrument cluster schematic you see the oil pressure sender with switch, On the other schematic you see the switch as a failsafe backup for the fuel pressure relay.
The sensor you have will probalby work for the dash.
Not all '84 had the three terminal sender arrangement! The OP's part is correct for the later. The later uses different nipple/elbow and switch components. Later '84 is same as '85.
The OP's pressure sender would require a GM# 25036553 or equivalent 2 terminal switch to complete the fix with appropriate wiring, elbows and fittings. It would be plumbed like this. 12 is his sender and 14 would be a 2 terminal switch. Echlin switch here in the USA would be a OP6624 or other. GM#'s for the brass is 14078987, 14078988 or of course after-market equivalents..
**Someone parting an '85 to '88 could maybe help the OP or maybe parting a late '84.
Ok guys I figured it out. I found the original connection and it is indeed a three pronged connector. Not sure how I missed it before but it was tucked underneath other stuff. I can be a dumbass sometimes. I'll return the part I ordered and get the right one. I take it that I will have to remove the current plumbing though?
The 3 terminal will likely be a $50 buy so if you're into what you've got for few $$$ maybe you just do some plumbing to accommodate it and buy the pressure switch which is cheap. The wiring shouldn't be an issue.

Yea. Looks to be a $33 piece. Nice. I love this place. I am not an auto mechanic, I've always worked on Japanese motorcycles and was pretty good at it, but this car. Oh, this car....
The thread is an 1/8 NPT and as you see on my picture, first a longer 90 degree on the block. Then a shorter 90 degree to the sesor.
On your picture it looks like both of them are still there. They just replaced the sensor with a hose fitting. Just remove that hose fitting and install the sensor.

Yes, that's pretty much what I figured. I ordered the part. $33 Not bad. I really get in over my head when it comes to the electrical system and I think that the C4 Corvettes can be a real challenge. There is a lot of what was new then put into the car and that allowed a pretty cool dash. If the PO had just spent the money to get the dash repaired he would have saved himself a lot of trouble bi-passing all that stuff just to install new gauges. But his effort made me learn, so that is good. Now, maybe my dash will work fully and I go on with other stuff.
