Default Winter Storage for my 85

I recently put my 85 away for the winter and after filling the gas tank I put in a bottle of STA-BIL and a bottle of FUEL INJECTION cleaner...I just read an article that said I should NOT of put the fuel Injector cleaner in the tank for storage.? Did i make a mistake.? Is this going to harm the fuel pump,or injectors.? Has anyone done this with no negative issues ??
THX in advance

Default Re: Winter Storage for my 85 (Daves85)

I haven't ever done that, but I wonder why it is not a good thing to do. I have an '85 also and I've never put sta-bil in the gas tank during winter storage, and I've had no bad gas in spring. But I also start the vehicle at least every 2 weeks, and it gets new gas at least once per winter. Maybe if you just start it more frequently to get rid of the gas mixed with injection cleaner there will be no ill effects. Maybe the injector cleaning solvent ruins the gas over time if not used up in a timely manner? :seeya
