I recent went put a set of TSI Long Tube Headers on my 95 C4 with a full Magnaflow System. The cats were removed and now I'm thinking that was a big mistake. Every time I get out of the car, I smell like fuel. Any Suggestions? I was even wondering are there smaller versions of Cats that might help, I'll deal with the small loss of hp, the motor is being rebuilt to a stroker soon. I'm not racing it just want increased performance for some of these newer cars who constantly want to play with my 25 year old good looking baby. Lol
When I had Stainless Works headers put on my 95 years ago they came with RT cats because there's no room for the stock ones. I kept the rest of exhaust stock. No smell no drone but I have had to replace the bullet cats over the past 10 years.
I had the same problem when I went to hooker long tubes and no cat. I left all the air pump system in place until I saw how it all came out. I am going back to the cat (new one) and leaving the emission stuff hooked up in place. It smells bad with no cat.

Do you smell fuel or do you smell like fuel? Those are 2 different things. If you smell like fuel, somehow gasoline fumes are going into the car. If you smell fuel, it might be that it is what it is without cats.
