C4 shifter issues
Hello, newbie here,
yesterday i went to move my 88 vette in the garage. I put it in drive to pull it up. Went too far, went to go into reverse, and shifter now does nothing. Opened up the top of the console, and shifter looks to be working fine, but it doesnt seem to shift into lower gears. Basically can move shifter from park to overdrive, but gears do not change.Now i didnt get underneath yet, but im just curious if anyone ran into this. Im thinking broken cable?

Now all I feel is the shifter moving but it’s not changing gears on the transmission I can move it from Parc to reverse to neutral to overdrive and drive but the transmission is stuck in drive and I cannot get it to go into 32 or one gear position

I did pull the top of the consul off and I can see the shifter moving the shifter cable is attached I was wondering if that popped off the shifter but everything on the shifter seems to be working fine Other than I cannot get it to go into the lower gears
