Working away on my 87 and I have what I think is a unique dash issue.
I pulled the dash and did some resolder work and added new bulbs (from Batee.com). All works great.
Reinstalled, tested and as I'm reinstallling the dash trim I realize that I can see about 1/4" at the top and that much being covered up at the bottom. So a portion of my turn signals and high beam light are covered.
The metal backing plate of the cluster has regular holes (not really allowing for room to adjust up/down.)
I have only driven this car once in late January bringing it home but now I do seem to recall that the turn signals were kind of "cut off" at the bottom.
Is there any way to shim the whole display up so it is properly centered in the trim?
On my 84 there is a pretty decent amount of wiggle room even though it is fixed mounted. I usually lift up when I install and it goes in fine. It's just trim clips that the screws tighten into iirc so they move quite a bit.

I did loosen the screws out but I didn't seem to get any wiggle room. I'l try to "encourage" it upwards (and gently). I'm quickly learning that 34 plastic isn't very forgiving lol.

I've stopped being careful with mine. But yes... I used a flat head to lift it slightly. The more careful I was the more things I messed up. Quick pulls seemed to keep everything from twisting and wedging to the point it would snap for whatever reason. Use with your own risk.
