this is the driver side mirror mount im trying to put on
I’m new and I’m 19 year old with a 1989 c4 corvette I bought the car thinking it was in perfect condition. But there were a lot of problems that I already fix myself and not a mechanic because I went to a local Chevy dealership and they told me it was in perfect condition but barely even a month later it came with all these issues. First I change the battery, serpentine belt, alternator, spark plugs, and coolant flush. I love the car it may sound like a burden but I’ve grown a connect with the car right now I’m dealing with a mirrror problem the mirror Motor mount broke, but I have a new one. how can I fix it without removing the door panel ?
Sometimes if it is floppy you can replace the trunnion it is the part behind the glass that pops the mirror in. pull glass safely off. I pryed gently.
then push evenly back on I used some oil to make it easier and a towel over my hand of course.
You will need to remove the door panel to replace the outside mirror. I'm sure there are youtube videos, it's not that difficult. You bought a C4, you will become a better mechanic. :-)

No yanking just pry off the glass and the pic is way too close to see what you have there. Actually that looks like an internet pick of a c5 make sure you are looking at c4.
Point your mirror inward all the way and see if you can wiggle it(just the glass) , if you can mabey popped off trunnion, You can towel up and press it back. Mine was flopping whenever I started braking and it got annoying fast(2 years) If you have damage to the motor that is different matter.
