Default Cold Start

As soon as the temperature dropped ( below 30 or so)my '86 became hard to start. It will start right up but I must keep my foot on the pedal or it will stall. When it warms up just a bit it will then run fine. Is there a cold start sensor? Or a cold start injector??

There is a cold start injector. It is mounted on the left side between a couple of the regular injectors. I don't know how to check it but I'm sure somebody here does. I don't think that is your problem tho. If you have to keep the gas pushed down to keep it running at start up I think you have some other problem. Do you have any codes stored? I would check things like fuel pressure too. Get somebody with a scan tool to hook up and see whats going on when it starts cold and then what happens when it starts to run okay.

I don't think its the cold start valve (injector) problem. Cold start valve is to inject more fuel for ease of starting the car when the engine temp. is less than 100 degree. In you case, the car start righ up. Keeping it going by step on the gas must be some other problem, and I don't understand about the ambient temp drop below 30 has anything to do with your problem.
