Hi, i have a 1990 corvette with an aftermarket MSD ignition system. Just recently i needed to replace the ignition coil and the coil wire. I got the same MSD Blaster 2 and the corresponding wire for the coil. Yet when i was putting the new coil in, the wire needs an adapter to fit into the female plug on the MSD Blaster 2 coil. The adapter, from what Ive seen online, needs to be tightened from the top terminal while in the female plug to make the adapter fit snug. I've seen many people having trouble with this, as i did myself. When i tried to tighten the adapter into the coil it would never tighten. when i try ti tighten the screw the whole screw ends up spinning so it doesn't tighten. The post has a flat head on the coil side and a 7 mm socket on the other end. When you try and tighten with one end by its self it just spins. I dont understand how to make the adapter snug in the socket. Does anyone know a better way to put the adapter in there or another way to fit the wire into the coil. I've ruined the current adapter i have, should i just go and buy another adapter and try again, or is there a better solution. any help is appreciated.
I'm guessing that you're asking about the coil wire connection at the coil end? (As mentioned above, a picture would be quite helpful here.) You don't need any adapter for that. Get a coil wire with the correct ends or do it yourself and change the coil end connector.

ok so here are pictures of what I'm working with. The adapter, the top of the coil, and the wire end. The adapter is broken, yes. It broke while trying to install.
as I mentioned I'm trying to get the adapter on the the coil. To be able to attach the wire to the coil, to attach the coil to the distributor. I was told this was how you do it.

You could try another adapter or try one of either of these other options: replace the coil end connector on that wire to one like in the (terrible quality thanks to the poor camera on my tablet) picture or you could use another coil. That terminal you have will connect to a Blaster SS coil with no modification.
And would this work? i don't know if there is really much of a difference between cables besides size. The cable i had and have are 8.5 mm. This kit is a 8 mm kit would that still work fine?
I'm guessing that your cap terminal looks like this? This is an HEI style terminal. That plug wire you pictured would connect to the coil but not the cap. (The opposite problem you've got now, I'm assuming.)
You would need this style connector on the coil end of the wire https://www.holley.com/products/igni...ies/parts/3331
Changing the connector on the wire isn't particularly difficult. You just need patience and a crimper. I make the plug wires for my car as an off the shelf pre-made kit won't work in mine. You have to attach the connector on every wire with one of the universal kits.
I haven't used one of those Power Tower adapters before so I don't have any experience installing one. The coil I use has the HEI style connector on it. (Like the wire you already have.)
Looks like that Taylor wire you pictured has the correct connectors in the kit.
