Can't you jumper bank to bank (combine) to check for pulse before asuming bad ECM? A$$hat @ihatebarkingdogs I'm quite sure summarized the procedure last year for an '85. I'm quite sure he would have made it disappear, minutes or hours after mentioning it. Jumper/combine I'd think could be accomplished 'under the hood' rather than stuffed up in under the dash' with all the ECM connectors. #467 LT Blue // #468 LT Green. The splices you asked about are referenced to 239-1 in the FSM - Page after the wiring diagram. That puts the splices near the pass-thru grommet 'inside the car'.
Here's the 'EVIDENCE' - notice that he for sure mikes it a point to 'compliment/like' himself in the thread. 3 separate 'likes' in a what's now a 4-post thread. Likes on 2/11 - 2/12 & 2/23
You asked if I have a scan tool to collect data and I said no. But now that I think about it I bought a Moats ALDL data logger back in 2013 to try to solve a IAC valve problem. Is it of any value in trying to solve this problem?
Thanks again for all of your advice. I performed every test each of you suggested plus many other tests. I also tested the portions of the circuits between the injectors and the fuses and everything checks out ok. I can only conclude that I have an ECM problem. So, where do you recommend I go to order a remanufactured ECM? Autozone? Ecklers? Autozone has one model for $109.99 and another brand for almost twice the price($191.99). In this case is the more expensive unit the better one? Is there a remanufacturer I should stay away from.
Yes, I patched together the two circuits. With regards to the source of remanufactured ECMs, does Cardone have a questionable track record? I understand they are a US company and the principle supplier to most of the auto parts distributors such as O’Rielly auto parts. If not Cardone, which remanufacturer should I purchase from?

An '85 GM# 1226870 might be a difficult find. With many having changed '85 to the later #1227165 I'd maybe post a WTB for the '85 part #. You might stumble upon 1. Maybe others have swapped and have an '85 'on the shelf'. What ever you do I wouldn't use yours as a 'core' until you have received one and the car is running. I'm NOT an eBay shopper but there's always offers there. Many eBay offerings you 'control' the TERMS. Might be something to consider! Yours has the original 1226870 label or been replaced w/after-market?
There's some interesting eBay offers there now it seems.
The case of my ECM reads: Serv. No. 1226870 86001 M510037068. Is there a way I can request the 1226870 part from the retail suppliers? What issues would occur if I received the other part number you mentioned?

There's a $59.99 'LIFETIME WARRANTY - NO CORE - on eBay now. I'd be damn tempted!

I'll double check but I thought I saw 1226870 at Autozone when I happened to be there earlier this evening and read the post.
I don't post 'shopping links' - That sorta makes others work a bit harder!! If the 'hint' don't work - it just don't work!!!
The only thing I'd ask of the seller/vendor is ship a unit that has the original GM/ACD label with the warranty stated. I wouldn't want or accept something that's been already through a rebuilder!
I checked the EBay offering you cited. Does it matter that the service number is correct but not the other strings of numbers on the case? Also, the ECM is out of a car with 2.8 L engine.

1226870 only and just specify they ship one with the label that matches their offering. Send them a snapshot of yours to confirm. The one in their 'presentation' would be fine so long as they do the 'warranty' they mention.
