Default Bellhousing C4 ZF

Hello,

Does anybody know what is the length of the C4 ZF bellhousing?

Measurement A, that would be from the face touching the block to the face touching the transmission itself.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Thank you.

OP - you never made a specific engine request and we might assume everyone suspected L98/LT1 & 4. An LT5 is different.

I'd think for accurate heights you maybe use a QuickTime specification for specific engine and the ZF.

An RM-6039 would give very likely specifications that are quite reliable. I believe if you want WAG responses from users with a 'tape measure' there's certainly going to be discrepancies. Tape measured reliability I'd think certainly a DIY with a known product in hand. For stock ZF there's also different product used for the manufacture and there are I believe differences. One product used metallic insulator to engine and also transmission face. - the other does NOT.

They used three different bell housings. I have the magnesium LT1/LT4 version which is likely most common, how accurate of a measurement do you need and do we include the forward and aft insulators?

You are correct, I am sorry for my poor request. My engine is a LT1, 1995.

This is a bellhousing like mine. Tape measure measurement is fine for me(considering one knowing how to use one), what I mean is, at this stage, an error of 1/8” is not a big deal.

Thank you!!!!

You are welcome. And this is a magnesium bellhousing, measurement is with the insulator between trans and housing and no insulator on flywheel side.
