That's a little extreme. I think I would have figured out a side scoop.

Nice ! Idk if you’ll beat many C8 Corvettes but your car will be ridiculously fun to drive. Not that there will be many C8 Corvettes to race anyways lol 😂

Thought Id post an update

The 10 psi boost by 4000 rpm and cool air makes it feel like Im driving a car with a roots blower. the e85, methanol, upped spark advance makes this possible. I hope it survives awhile.

There is an immediate ‘throw you back punch’ to getting on the gas vs. the old rev to the moon and hold on tight once you crest 5000 rpm.

This e85 is really cool stuff. For example, when my intake manifold is ‘hot’ enough to burn my hand, ill touch my fuel rails and notice they are much cooler. I can keep my hands on them.

The p315/35r17 R888R are hooking well even at 45-50F.
Though i havent really pushed them in 1st gear yet.

even the 8 yr old spec stage 3+ clutch and alum flywheel have been ‘grippy’ / feel like it wasnt recently

heres the bad.

6.5 MPG across the last 75 miles. A lot of that was spent idling in the driveway during a tune but still 55 of that was highway at 75 MPH.

im hoping its not just an unfortunate , unavoidable combo of batch fire, big 80 lb injectors (RVY - warned me) and e85.

i mean, id be happy with ‘15’ on the highway if its this much fun

spec'd at 11.2 @ 122 the C8 seems to have a lot of bite down low. But that being, we were watching a C8 break traction all down the track it was a little concerning. For street night bragging rights all those factors are part of the equation on a real head to head in real conditions.

Its pretty common to see the 3600-3800 pound Zl1s and SC mustangs and SC Camaro SS in the low 12's at 115-120. those last couple mph to paper spec are just so elusive in reality. Truth is is gonna be hard to compete with the C8 DTC 9080. That model number is so high its a little dizzying to even think about lol. The plain reality is the A8 and A10 trans are just too good today to compete with a M6. They have that advantage of sitting in the peak powerband with all kinds of launch friendly tech.

Hope to see time slips!

2nd gear stomp.

Gage pod blue light = methanol spraying (starts at 5 psi)
Gage pod red light = fuel pump 2 is on (on at 7.5 psi thru Hobbs switch)
Boost gage (top) red light in center = >10 psi boost mode

center dash vent light = 6000 rpm (redline is set at 6200 rpm)

I like 80s music, its usually all i listen too

the rattle is the pin in my fire extinguisher, its right below the camera

I know the video stinks / so any suggestions on how to make it rattle less. Let me know

What camera and how is it mounted? The first step to reducing shudder in a video is to make sure that the camera is stable. If it cannot be stable, it should at least be moving along with the car. But if it's allowed to vibrate freely then you get the video in question.

Normally I'd suggest a gopro stuck to the rear window glass, but you have a vert. So other than a helmet cam I'm not sure what to suggest to you to get a smoother video.

I wanna post an update to this thread

i got e85 15.4 highway mpg (with maybe three 6000 rpm on ramp-romps) in it across a 125 mile trip on a fresh batt reconnect (no correction factors stored).

I re fueld on e85 @1.65 /gallon at meijer in delaware, ohio and then headed back another 125 miles home (same route) refilled with gas and saw 17.2 mpg on e85 (highway miles)

i attribute the better mpg, on the way home, to the ecm VE correction factors it generated (during run-cycle 1) and used on the 2nd run-cycle.

since premium fuel is $3.50/gallon, e85 is significantly cheaper to operate the vehicle on.

14 cents a mile (at 24 mpg on 93 octane premium)
vs
10 cents a mile (at 17 mpg on e85 AND bonus of prob 150 hp with the extra boost and spark advance i run)

Yeah it's nuts how cheap E85 is right now compared to straight gas. While you can't get nearly the overall same range on E85 (due to the additional ~30% fuel volume needed), as you experienced, it's still cheaper overall.

Good work.

i think its cheap only bc it isnt selling.

theres less and less ‘flex fuel’ cars each year from the OEM. I incorrectly assumed almost every car sold today is flex fuel. Turns out almost every new car is NOT flex fuel

I bet 3 yrs from now, the e85 party will be over
