‘89 C4 corvette with the electronic hood release button in center console. So I have found that to use the electronic hatch release in the center console you have to have all doors closed which doesn’t bother me that much but you have to pull up on the parking brake. I can see the reason behind it but is there anyway to disable it because it is on a lift and sometimes the door buttons don’t work. It is kind of annoying to have to climb in and hold the parking brake up because it won’t stay up because the breaks aren’t working at the moment. Thanks in advance
That yellow button is grounded on one side, when you press it it sends ground to hatch relay to activate it. If it an auto it has to be in park or neutral I believe also.
Take wire from shifter to button and ground it.. now anytime you press button hatch should open.
I have a 3d printer if that seems like it will be a problem i can print a door that can go over it. Unless the car wont let you use it when the car is in gear. Which i can easily test.

Why not use door buttons? Had my car since new and I've used that console button 10 times tops
It is just nice even if you use it once a year and also when i pull the door switches it is quiet but when i just the button it has a loud clicking sound in the rear. Does anyone know what the door switches work off of. Also if you are in the car and you want to open the trunk for someone putting something in the back you have to open the door instead of just pushing the button in the console.
my 85 buttons work and then don't work....don't know what causes it....when I posted a few years ago, I guy said turn the interior lights on and off....that cured it....don't know why.....pretty sure it a ground issue somewhere...don't think the parking brake or opening the door is your problem...unless opening the door turned the dome lights on/off.....gremlins....
What if something in the console nudges the button? Wouldn't it open going down the road?
The way mine is wired, yes that can happen. But I build my interior including center console and the only thing in there is my cell phone and my paperwork for the car. So no chance of it accidentally getting activated.
Also, you have to push that button in past flush to activate it.. i gave it some thought before I wired it that way. But seeing its an easy quick rewire I might as well go ahead and wire it into the park/neutral start switch on shifter so it can only work in park or neutral.
