Starter is heat soaking, check all power and ground connections at the battery, ground at bell housing, and check wire at the starter, as a last resort, if your car has the denso style starter it can be rebuilt for 25 dollars, the starter solenoid plunger and copper contact lugs wear over time and they put, replace, and apply liberal amount of dialectic grease to the contacts and the plunger. If it has the old style chevy starter look into replacing it with a starter from a 91-96 c4, very simple rebuild, may even consider wrapping it to keep catalytic converter heat from the starter, do a search it is a very common issue with the c4 to have starter heat soak. As mentioned above also verify ignition system is in good condition and timing set correctly.
More description of the problem, what happens when you start the warm engine. Is the starter spinning slower that you can tell or it just won't catch?
Its turning over just fine, its as if it is not getting fuel. I apply an extremely light amount of pressure on the gas peddle and hold it there and it will start to fire up. But its not ding this all the time.
