Hi,
have a 88 with 4+3, bought the Abbott electronic ratio adapter because I changed out my rear gear to 3.54. I have done the dip switches in the adapter but would like to know what colour the vas signal wire I cut and use on the transmission?
thx
I believe Abbott actually has a tech line that if you call they'll help you. Just ask if it needs to be spliced into the yellow as mentioned in that thread or the other which should be purple.
VSS wiring is 8A-33-0 in your FSM in the Electrical Supplement.
You my friend are a saint. Thank you 😊
mine is a 4+3 and not an automatic but I’ll see if it’s the same colour wires underneath. I know one had a stripe on it.

I didn't say it was 'correct' but an 88 FSM and nearly all use YELLOW and PURPLE for wire colors to VSS. In some years YELLOW is mentioned to be HI so if you have to call Abbot and they ask, just ask them if it needs to be HI VSS or LOW VSS.
I just installed an Abbot box in a1990 and it was the yellow wire from the VSS. Watch the dip switches sometimes it is hard to tell which way is on or off.
