who here has used desktop dyno to help design their engine buildup? i have heard it mentioned ehre on this website a couple times but never actually seen it. can anyone please chime in here and give me osme insite as to where to get it how much it cost and pros and cons of this program? thanks a lot in advance guys!
I used it to analyze the increased manifold pressures with my nitrous. Other folks here have used it to see HP increases with heads, cams and exhaust. If operated correctly, I understand it to be quite accurate. As for purchasing it, I got mine from the NOS trailer at the drag races. It is available from Jegs and Summit.
Check Corvette Fever on-line; I believe they did an evaluation of Dyno2000 and it's companion package Drag2000 earlier this year.
As mentioned it can show effects of changing various engine components including head porting, headers, cam, etc. The hardest part (for me) is modeling the intake manifold properly.
If you plan to drag race your Vette, consider also the Drag2000 package, it's VERY useful in optimizing drive train components.
