So here’s a good one: picked up my 96 LT-4 from Jersey to drive home to DC today. Without warning, just past Baltimore, the car started to stutter … like it was losing power. I started to pull off to the shoulder and it really stuttered.
Gas, I thought?
Then at about 10 MPH the rear end locked up and I came to a skidding halt on the side of 95. The car wouldn’t go into gear, then wouldn’t come out of gear. Stop and start, and the transmission still wouldn’t get into gear, and even while in neutral the car is actually stuck in gear (tall gear because it doesn’t jerk when it goes to stall taking my foot off of the clutch.
I got about 150 miles before this happened, and there was no warning or indication that there was an issue.
Anyone hazard a guess or care to place a bet on what the dealer in Baltimore finds?
..... My wild *** guess is that someone drained the trans and either didn't refill it or didn't fill it with enough of the correct oil ... why was the car in Joisey ? .....
