I'm considering these bars for my 95 and was wondering what everyone's experience has been. Driving the car it feels like there is cowl shake or instability in the a-arm mounts. I have read the promotional write ups for the bars and don't know if what I'm feeling will be affected by using the bars. I just don't want to get into an endless game of chasing one instability after another and not being satisfied in the end.

I had the Vette2Vettte chassis bars for about four years and ended up selling them.
Everyone has a different opinion on them but for me I initially thought it somewhat stiffened the chassis, although with the roof off I still had cowl shake and steering column movement.
One day I was working on the underside of my car and needed to remove the Vette2Vettte bars to get at my rear e- brake cable. I went for a test drive and I left off the bars during the ride. Guess what I noticed no difference!
That's when I ended up selling them.
Again this is just my opinion on my car (which I have owned and aggressively driven for 25 years) your experience may vary.

I have both Vette2Vette bars and the truss bar that goes in place of the top, The truss bar works best at stopping the lose feeling when the top is out.

Seems like V-2V will (or used to?) offer a ride guarantee. If you buy from Vette-2-Vette and don't think they help, you can return them. Prolly contact Jason to see if that's still true.
I know this because I've also had the same thought, complaint, and battle(s).
Now, I SHOULD say that I've never run the highest-priced tires (like Goodyear)...unless you consider the 10yr-old 14k mile original set. After my 3rd set of Sumitomos, I road forced and ended up with something pretty darn vibration free. That excludes the occasional crappy highway stretch. I've found that road force balancing tires goes a long way to eliminating vibration and cowl shake. From what I've read, higher-priced tires MAY take more time to "shave" carcasses...or even mold them more precisely...so they are inherently less out-of-balance "out of the box". So, better tires can help too...especially when you consider balancing offsets flaws versus correcting them.
One member (Tom) actually proved our C4 front clips CAN have "excessive" play. Can't remember if it's design or "iffy" glue-inforced junctions, or both? In other words, some play may be inherent...and probably not improved by anything short of total frame reinforcement. That's why superbly balanced tires go the furthest in mitigating the issue.
Note: Tom published a manufacture article saying the engineers created the C4 frame to last 20 years. Uhhhhh....really!

I have an 89 convertible that was missing the factory cross brace. I was looking to buy the one from V2V or should I try and find a factory X brace? It's going to be just a daily driver, no racing or track time. Just want to stiffen it up because it's a convertible!! .
