battery died the other day....upon investigation, found that when I shut the car off (85), the security light stays on...about 1/2 bright.....lights up when you open the door, but goes dim when shut.....anybody have any advice as to where to start????thanks, Paul'''''also, when I turn the interior lights on with the headlight switch, the security light goes out....

By chance did you convert the interior bulbs to LED? I'm afraid the 85 is outside of my area of expertise, but I seem to recall issues with the earlier instrument panels stemming from using LEDs, so I'll toss it out just in case.

I have had the exact problem. I believe it to be linked with the 2 door jam switches or the 2 door switches and the 3rd hatch switch. Make sure your door ajar and hatch ajar are lighting when open.
Press and play with the door jam switches to make sure the lights are going on when opened. Use the key to open and close the locks(kind of clean them by going back and forth) Since driving it alot lately that problem has not returned. But I had it.
