Just replace my power brake booster!
Got one at Kragens for $106 w/ lifetime warranty. Couldn't resist that!
Having a 14" 3/8 in. drive extension, a 12"x12" mirror, a SnakeLite, and my nephew to do the "under dash" work, the job was done in about an hour. The mirror works great when working under a vette dash. We used alittle grease inside the 1/2" socket to prevent loosing the 2 nuts that were removed from under the dash. A good tip that I learned a long time ago from my late father.
Now, I feel like I've got a "new" car again (except for the 163,800 miles showing on the odometer)!!
Hope everyone has a great holiday season!!

A word to the wise for anyone looking to buy one of these. As this is a rebuilt unit, do not leave your core until you have inspected the new one. I went in to pick up my new one and found a cruddy looking metal unit with a dent on one side and the vacuum check valve had not been replaced. I was livid. I could not believe they would offer that as a replacement part. Inside the box there was even a notice with pictures of the original plastic unit and this metal replacement.
Fortunately, they were willing to call their warehouse and check through their stock until they found an original one for me. It was nice and clean and looked new.
The Service manual gives a dimension of 3.86 inches, front to back for assembling this unit. I found one side to be overtightened by .130 inches.
I adjusted and installed it. It works fine. It also came with a new firewall gasket, which most do not.
Zip no longer sells a repair kit for these, or I would have rebuilt mine myself. I took the old one apart, found the hole in the diaphragm and put it back together. Piece of cake, but no kit.
