I was just cleaning up some parts bins and found an old ICM which I think may be my original one. I wouldn't have tossed it in those bins if it didn't work. (I shouldn't have anyway.) But I only replaced as it was old and I didn't want to deal with it just dying on me... and my cousin ordered the wrong one for his TA which was the correct one for an 84 according to GM. Anyway I thought about putting it back in since it does work and keeping the current one as a spare simply because most of the issues I've seen my friends have with them has been the replacement ones they did just because. Haven't made that decision yet but otherwise it just stays in the small tool bag I take with me on long trips of simple things that go wrong...
My question, there doesn't seem to be a PN on it other than the stamped GM, a stamped 466 and a 908 2E07 as well as a yellow (maybe used to be white) paint dot. If this isn't even the correct module it goes in the trash. but do any of those numbers sound right to anyone? I looked around on here and didn't pull up any useful info on it. Thanks in advance and sorry I'm curious more than anything. I like having backups for the just in case situation so that I'm not totally hosed if something stupid fails.

I can't tell you if that's the original module from your car, but it's a genuine OEM GM part. The 466 is the plant code it was made at (Delco Electronics Division in Kokomo, Indiana). The 908 is the last three digits of the part number. The 2E07 is the date code (May 7, 1982 IIRC). The white dot is a sealer to plug the cover vent hole after the module was run through the oven to cure the internal passivation and the cover adhesive.
That's my best recollection of the external/manufacturing details (I welcome corrections if my memory is failing me). I worked in a nearby building in the ignition module design group, so the internal parts/details are more familiar to me.

More than likely that's the one that was in it when I got it then. I will be putting it in said bag as a backup in case the current one fails.
