Default 1990 Bose radio replacement

Hello, I just got. 1990 1 owner coupe and the PO removed the radio and all speakers. I was told he planned to send it all out and have it fixed. Now I don’t know if all or 1 piece is bad- so there starts my dilemma. I’ve been told to just replace it all, seeing it’s all out anyways.
I was looking at this head unit:

With that said, what do I do about speakers? Can all the “boxes” be reused with new speakers without modification? Just run new wires to each speaker install and be done? Can it be that simple? I appreciate any help, and pics of installs with items used. Thanks in advance.

Don't know about your system but I took the non bose speaker assemblies and use them. I got Best Buy to run the wires with a foot of extra wire so I can take my time to get the right speaker in place. Got non-Bose assemblies to use and they seem to work well.

Hello- have 89 coupe w/bose system. Or at least what is left of it. I know the rear speakers can be upgraded/replaced with after market speakers that will fit inside stock space. I believe the front door speakers will need a modified mounting arrangement.

Supposedly, the existing bose wiring cannot be reused and if you install non-bose speakers new wiring is needed.

Crutchfield is a source to try. Their representatives are knowledgeable.

Good luck

I think you could reuse the wires but you might have to make so many alterations that it isn't worth it. Might as well run fresh wire.
