there is wiring for an aux power supply under the console (check owners manual)...and i cant figure out the difference between the "batt" wire and the ignition wire...which one is the + and which is the -? by the way, the colors are wrong...supposed to be pink black and orange...they are orange black and brown.
Only proper way to check is with a multi meter. What is the Aux for ? Dual power seats? Sportseats? or extra besides that? What do you need it for?
Are you asking what is the difference between battery and ignition? Orange is battery, and is always 12V. Brown is ignition, and is 12V only when the key is in the RUN position. Black is ground. This is on my '96.

These were provided for any owner installed accessories that needed 12V electrical power such as permanently installed cell phones or radios. I use the switched lead for my CB radio for club tours. They would work for a radar detector that you may have to move from vehicle to vehicle too.
i am using the 12v power supply for my nitrous setup, and want to run the power to my arming switch...so black is ground, orange is power, and brown is power when ign is on? then why did i get sparks when black and brown touched?
I assume you got sparks when you turned the ignition on, that means you shorted power to ground. If you got sparks with the ignition off, it is probably some capacitive charge being discharged (shouldn't happen though, should go back to ground quickly).
Seriously, you shouldn't be touching the brown and black wires together, and definately don't hook up a switch so that they are shorted when you hit the switch.
