I have installed a new motor, I have not installed C beam yet, and would like a little more room near the firewall to put in coolant crossover pipe and hook up tc cable, "egr stuff". I have put in drive shaft and new seal in rear of transmission. How far can I lower rear of the transmission safely , it is currently on jackstand? by removing yoke would it ruin the new seal?
When I install c beam the FSM states add sealant on c beam and the four big bolts which the "sealant" is no longer available so I was planning on using the product "right Stuff" or is there a better alternative?
can I use "the right stuff when placing engine oil dipstick?
There was a TSB warning that engine could crack " firewall" if not supported when transmission is removed; causing water leak. So you need to avoid allowing heads to contact " firewall". It will likely vary from car to car as far as drop.
wow you nailed it! there is actually more room I raised the transmission rear end two inches and allowed room to get to the rear end of the heads. thanks for the save. I am not concerned with hitting firewall. install went great put it in with engine and transmission already mated together and never hit firewall. It took a while to figure out what you were saying but THANKS you are the man
