Anyone know why there is a drain tube inside the car against the forward Up against the passenger 'A' pillar, under dash????? Where does this come from???
right side, up under the dash?????
It flooded my car yesterday. Sure the Targa top drips, but not 2" of WATER on the passenger floorboard!!!!
If it were coolant in the floor board and carpet, I would agree.
However, since it is pure, clear water... no.
I put a hose into the drain tube and blew smoke into it and it came out the underhood cowl, fresh air intake. not sure why it would drain into the car, but now I have to figure it out. I can't have rain water draining from the cowl into the passenger bucket. SHeesh.
Thanks for the guess though.
I guess the car has been painted and someone must have been in here, because the drain tube has silver paint on it. I took a pic of where it was, pulled it up and shoved it down into the 'A' pillar. Hopefully that will take the water out. I'll test it. But this definitely was the problem.

Reason: pics
When I first bought my C4 it had really bad weather seals on the one roof panel. It leaked at the front of the Door windows and the roof seal and that flooded the floor, I had a puddle but nowhere near 2". Put a tarp over it if it is not in a garage until you replace the seals. If yours needs new weather stripping order it from a name brand quality company and take your time. You will also need Adhesive Remover and some fresh weatherstripping Glue as well. It is not too ad a job
I added drains to both corners of my rear window. It is another major leak point. I have replaced them twice in 27 + years of ownership and will do it again before to long.
Having never seen a drain inside the C4 taking windshield base water to the ground (in theory) I would clearly re-route it away from the interior.
There are 3 cowl drains one near wiper motor. One behind each fender. You will need to take them off to get to hose clean debris. Then use gallon jugs, 2 liter bottles, or bucket of water to be sure water will drain in a storm. Spraying water with a hose doesn't always send the volume of water to overwhelm a restricted drain hose like the sudden rush of a gallon of water.
Ahhhh, great to hear it was plain water because I wouldn't even wish replacing heater core on my worst enemy.. But why is a drain line located in the cab? What was PO thinking.
It is a fair weather car most of the time. I just happen to get caught in a downpour at work last Friday.
I did clean a very little debris from the drain hose mouths at all three points from under the cowl.
None were clogged. Its just that the passenger side drain tube was not stuffed into the 'A' pillar.
After routing it properly, I did test it and the water does NOW drain out behind the right side fender lower panel.
It has all been very exciting, tearing out the seat and scrubbing and vacuuming the carpets.
I even found a little something that I'm glad I got out of there, under the seat!
All in all, it worked out fine and I'm sure I won't have this problem again.
Nope, now I have a new issue... the radio quit on me! Schizer.

Actually, getting to those hoses to 'take them off' would be unreasonably difficult.
However, the vent screens will come out, allowing you to get some gentle compressed air into those drain tubes to blow out the debris.

The 'Petty Officer'? (PO?)
It had paint all over it, so I am guessing it is a disassembly/reassembly detail that was overlooked by a painter.
My question is, why would the manufacturer route an exterior drain tube through the interior of the car???!!!
Its fixed now, but not the most fun I've ever had on a Saturday.

I think you are backwards here.
Manufacturer had it right and perhaps the painter (or someone else) re-routed it wrong.
