Egr temp switch
Sir, where does the egr switch in tranny tunnel behind distributor does it connect. I’ve got 1/2 the engine apart. N exhaust removed partially n I can’t see it or
get to it at all????

EGR switch
EGR switch screws into the egr pipe to tell the computer that the pipe has changed temperature: hence, egr valve has opened.
if valve is closed, pipe is full of non moving air, which will be colder.
it is basically on top of the right rear of rh valve cover, not in trans tunnel

Idle
Idle is set as a tandem combination.
first,
lower the idle scew to where approx, you started.
then go to the throttle position sensor.
put a voltmeter on it while it’s connected to computer.
Turn on key, but do not start.
go back to voltmeter but set it so u can read it from the left side of of the engine.
back off idle set screw till it reads .475 volts ( almost half volt). That should be where u started from.
your car should idle if everything is plugged in.
but i think you have a gasket mismatch and a large vacuum leak, so it won’t idle at factory settings.
