What is the part number for the shift linkage on a 1992 vette? I want to order one from rock auto just cant find it. Also would a later model shift linkage work on a 92 as well?
entire assembly. Mechanic said it was called shifter linkage but 🤷♀️ the dealer doesn't have it
The mechanic needs to tell you what is wrong. Cables are available, but finding an entire new assembly is going to be like looking for hen's teeth.
If you truly need the entire assembly, you could call Mark Mirrock at https://mirrockcorvette.com/ and see if he has one he could sell you.
But once again, you need to know exactly what you are asking for.

🤔 hmm yeah I'll give him a call. I got the cable and everything but we're just missing that part I guess this is where it gets difficult 😅
Just wondering what is so wrong that it needs a pull and throw, there is not much that has not been brought up on this forum that hasn't been discussed or can't be figured out.
. If it is needed Mirrock is probably your best bet for a fair price
'92 was before shift lock solenoid but park lock cable and neutral safety seem to be the same '92+ so I'd think likely '92+ could be made to work. OP ain't mentioned for fact what's busted so who knows. If someone had a '92+ that they could 'offer up' you could help the OP likely. GM SPO mentions '92 & '93 then a change for '94+.
What is the shifter failing to do that is causing your mechanic to suggest buying a new one. If it is that the button is hard to depress to move the lever you do not need to replace the entire shift linkage.

it's a 92 and yeah we finally figured out what it was called so it made it easier to find the part online 🤷♀️ I saw a 96 one too but didn't want to risk the parts not fitting. Now on to my wheels I need to make a new thread. On another thread I made I got the paint all scuffed up so I resanded my hood and got BGM0520 paint and it looked exactly like factory😎 👍. Too windy yesterday so I'm waiting on the weekend. On to wheels I want to redo those as well
