My turn signal is broken. Doesn't work for right hand turn. I've been told that it's the pivot switch. The switch was used on the 90 to 96. Can't find a replacement. Is there any other switch that can be modified to use as replacement?
I would guess they meant this: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...al+switch,4832
There is nothing called a "pivot switch" though the switch above does pivot. There is nothing in your steering column that isn't in a million other Chevys.

I seriously 'doubt' this piece of information! Would you care to 'validate' your information?
OP - Year matters! '90 through '96 columns have similarities but you can't just assume 'same'! There's no point to a discussion until year is documented!
Here is a link to the Directional Pivot Plate that covers a vast number of years, But I believe its part of the whole switch assembly and as WVZR-1 pointed out years matter at that point. Now my car too had a similar but not as bad problem and all it was a loose screw on the Directional plate, but to get to the screw requires pulling the wheel and Steering wheel lock plate parts to get to the plate and there is a tool needed to compress the plate spring so retainer is easily removed and replaced. lock plate tool is available at most chain parts stores or rent a centers if you just want to buy it.
Some seem to enjoy WAG .. I don't but I might as well also!
If the car is a '93 or earlier this could be an interesting read. It ain't in millions of Chevys either. If the car were a '94+ similar only (different part fabrication) operation but again it ain't in millions of other Chevys.
