Where is it located on the Corvette? What year Corvette How many wires are going to the sensor?
Is that oil or anti-freeze on the block where you took the picture?

Maybe just explain where it is and we can go from there.
What kind of issues are you having with your Corvette and the Funky Start-up idle?

Describe the problem from when they started and what they are doing now.
The more detail the better chance of an fast answer and solution

If it is the coolant temp sensor on the front of the intake then it would affect start up and open loop running since coolant temp will default to 61 °C. Should have a code 14 or 15 also. Just hard to tell from your pic what exactly we are looking at.
