Default 84 Engine Bolt Issues

I just acquired an 84 CF that had previous unkown engine problems (heads were off). The previous owner put everything back together (using a dealership mechanic who was a friend) and got her running pretty good so that I could drive it back to texas. Unfortunately, the engine went out during the drive (bearings and probably oil starved). While tearing the engine down most critical bolts were generallly loose. Assuming that they were all properly torqued in the beginning, what could cause this bolt loosening to occur and how would you prevent a recurrence of this nature in the future? Yes, i will tap all threads and holes, clean all bolts, use correct sealants and apply proper torques. That is probably it--right? :nopity

It sounds as if someone was deeper into that engine and forgot to torque the bolts down, anyway clean and retap all bolt holes and toss out those bolts and replace with new bolts as they are stretched out

overheating can cause bolts to loosen, so watch for that in the future, but I would guess things were just not properly torqued.
