IMO no performance gain is noticeable from a so called performance chip . Save your money .
The Later C4 ECM's do SO MUCH MORE than the early C4 ECM's are able to do. I would agree to just stick with what your car came with. I wish my 1988's ECM could do some of the things your ECM is capable of.
Regular maintenance is really helpful for a faster Corvette, basic tune-ups make a difference. A different Chip however does not make horsepower. People buy them and get very disappointed with the results. Kind of like putting an "Airfoil" inside the Throttle Body and getting and immediate 15 hp gain.... Spark Plugs are another one that cannot "make" Horsepower for you either. I even have the Smooth hose that goes from the MAF sensor to the Throttle Body in place of that speed impeeding corrugated plastic hose. Got to be another 10-15 hp in that, eh?
I apologize for my sarcasm I just wish I had a Buck for every time someone bought the idea. ( I would have a NICE C8 in my driveway)...
I bought a gadget called a GTECH Pro and it will let you know if you gained or lost horsepower very easily without breaking the speed limits. I find a lonely highway and do 30-60 mph runs and I will know very quickly if it helped or not.
