I have a used set of Hooker 2149 Headers that I need to send off to get coated. Anyone have any experience with any of the coating companies? I know there used to be a forum member that worked for one of the coating companies, but I don't remember who it is. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
I had Jet-Hot do a set of shorties inside and out. Great job looks almost like chrome and the quality is great. I would recommend them. Here is a look at the finished header. http://www.boomspeed.com/alhale/headerpic.JPG
I have to agree with the other guys Jet-Hot is the way to go...my headers are coated with Jet-hot and they are spectacular and Jet-Hot is also very customer friendly...good luck
Just got off the phone with Jet-Hot, to prep & re-coat the Watson headers I just purchased they want $279, they give a 15% discount to Corvetteforum members :D so I'm looking at $237 W/ 3-5 day turn around.
I used Jet Hot on one re-coat and HPC on another. It's hit or miss. The coating DOES NOT last long(Depending also on your engine's tune). They'll start to turn dull(At least mine did) and rust will form on the collector area eventualy.
All in all. . . it's better than having them un-coated. Just a little heads up for you when and if they turned or began to rust, don't be surprised.
