Yesterday on my 4+3 the shifter gained quite a bit of resistance moving it between all the gears. I do not really know if it was like that from take off or mid trip. But it happened over night. Day before it was loose as a goose and easy to move (it has always notched into each position nicely) It has 82k on it. Put about 4k since purchase. I had the trans fluid changed by the shop just as preventative maintenance maybe 1000 miles ago. Straight 80w. I do not think the fluid is relevant, but I just want to be sure this isn't a warning sign before I drive it an hour on Friday.
It did get down into the 30's here. It is warmer now but the stiffness remains.
It did seem to help when it hit 70 outside again. So I guess it's not anything internal. I just can't picture anything servicable there, but yea it could be relevant to the reverse lock. That is somewhat intricate.
