Sweet build. I need to look the piston company up, as I want ti rebuild/bore my 396LT1 out and put standard rings in it, and a smallet cam (duration is 230 to 240 int/exh).
Oil consumption has always been shitty with low tension rings.
But fun factor in my 93 Ruby is awesome.
I could see on the pistons it was using oil. I changed the oil right before I started driving it. And it was a quart low after driving it 1000 miles. But it wasn't enough you could see clouds of oil coming out the tailpipe.
Someone changed the exhaust on the car before I got it. It had manifolds with dual 3" pipes with a crossover pipe and some loud flowmaster mufflers. I put on headers and hi flow cats. Then I took off the flowmasters and put stock mufflers on it. It actually ran the same, but was alot quieter. So now it's headers, hi flow cats, dual 3" with a crossover, then it goes into the stock mufflers. Its kind of different, it's a pretty fast car, but its really pretty quiet. You just expect it to be louder for as fast as it is. The stock LT mufflers flow really well. I think the reason if people change them is they want a different look, or a different sound.

I was contemplating putting the flowmaster system back on. I currently have no cats ( would like to put some on), 396LT1 and DRM 1 3/4 long tubes with oem cat back. Sounds good, imho, and at 54 years old, might be the right way to keep it..
Wow. That is gorgeous! love the wheel and the paint combo!
Thanks. Those are wheels that were on it when I bought it. They are C5 Z06 wheels with 295/35/18 tire on the rear. So a little more tire than the stock wheel size.
Sounds like a sewing machine under the hood but ready to rumble at the rear bumper.
These cell phone videos never sound quite right compared to how they really sound. It does make the engine sound a little noisy, when its really quiet in real life with no valve train noise

Im using Bosch 30 lb injectors. PCM for less did the chip, and it feels really close. When it breaks in I'll put my wideband on it. But it has to be really close. Super responsive, and runs really nice. Pulls to 6000 rpm.
I have about 50 miles on it right now
I'm surprised it only took 30lb/hr, mine runs on 42s with the Walbro 255.

I let PCM for less make the call on injector sizing since they are doing the tune. I told them the car will mainly be used at high elevation. So up here, we don't need as much injector since we're down on power because of the high DA
