I believe that I saw a snapshot you posted of an '85 that appears to be NOW carbureted! There's multiple issues you seem to have with this car so ....................................
The how's and why's you've got a pile of parts you can't ID is likely explained by the fact that 'someone' has attempted something they quite likely shouldn't have. If you've bought it 'as is' and have spent very few $$$ I'd suggest you sell it!! It will take very deep pockets to make it run!!
Apologize for being quite frank with thoughts but it does appear to be 'WHAT IT IS'!!!
Got it for free and have 99% of all parts including original. So i am ahead at this point. Compared to todays stuff, its low tech fuel injection. If i cant get a 36 year old car running, i shouldnt be working of them.

You're correct - a sale could put $$$$ in your 'pocket'!!

Yea but is it worth it just to prove a point?
Use it as a parts car and buy one running and driving.
Another option is to use an aftermarket ECU and make it fully tuneable for any future modifications. The only thing affected on the digital dash are instant/average MPG and fuel range. Other than that it will not be decectable under hood or inside.
With an aftermarket ECU you can do whatever depending on what ECU you use. Check engine ligth is not an issue. I don't know the state of the car or what was done. 1985 converted to carb? If they just folded the old engine harness to the side and everything is still there, then it might be doable to put it back as stock. The stock 1985 was a one year only. If the wireing is hacked up then it might be as simpler to wire up to a new modern ECU with 35 years newer technolgy. I would say $1.000 range. There are cheaper options like MegaSquirt but the learning curve is steeper. You can more or less buy an aftermarket ECU with a flying lead harness. It will take some time and effort to wire everything up, and it is not for everyone. I thru this up as a possible route if the stock engine harness is too hacked up.
I didnt know there was a book #2. Mine doesnt say book #1. I would imagine finding just that book would be difficult.
The harness are mostly there, some wires cut, but I think I can solder them back together again. That with the fsm and help from you guys I should be able to get it back to factory specs.
