I can't get this light to go out! Very frustrating. Here are the steps I've taken so far with no resolve.
1. Replaced relays to updated service bulletin
2. Replaced Air Mas Meter
3. Refurbished the fuel ignition computer.
4. Just had a tune up completed. plugs, wires, rotar, cap, fuel filter replaced.
After the computer was replace my mechanic got the light to go off. I drove it home and the next time I started the car the light came back on. Let me know if you have any other suggestions. I've attached a picture of the light indicator currently on.
The mechanic involved has been reading codes trying to diagnose the problem. I'm on the other end paying for parts and labor. At this point the car is clear of any new codes. He states that the computer was only offering basic codes given the age of the computer. So here I am reaching out to see if anyone has any other ideas.

Who has the car now? You or the shop! Car has C68 so it's for sure '86 or later! What year is it?
Learn to 'jumper' A & B in the ALDL connector to read the codes. Do you have the FSM (Factory Service Manual) for your car. Ask the shop what codes he got. Do you have the old ECM? Has the shop provided you a list of previous codes? There's likely better pages for diagnostics but this is a very generic read.
Read the info regarding jumping the the ALDL. I can do this. QQ: will any new or existing codes show up where the Check Engine Soon light is illuminated? They refurbished the ECM said there was a slight crack in the module that they repaired. I have the existing one back in the car. I do not own a FSM so I will be in the dark for a little while. I could perform this test and let you know what if any numbers come up.
