Default Wiring ID 1

85 C4 - I inherited this spaghetti. Can anyone ID or have an idea what this is? Specifically the red and orange wires.

Thank you everyone

C

85 C4:

This area is in front of the firewall on the driver side on top of the batter and cruse control area.

As you can see, it is done by someone, not factory. I inherited this and trying to unravel.
This is wiring I inherited. It is in the rear left of the engine compartment near the firewall.

Can you tell where the end of that wire goes? If it's going to the relay right there on the wheel well, then it would be the ECM controlling the radiator fan. The connector on the wire looks like an O2 sensor connector but that should be a bit lower so I can't say for sure. The orange wire appears to be a fusible link. If you're able to trace where it goes then that'll shed some light on it.

Thanks, The black end goes to that oblong connector just above the batter tender handle. The red end goes into the wiring harness. It does NOT go to that relay. That relay is the fuel pump relay.

Ah gotcha. On mine, that relay controls the radiator fan. My fuel pump relay is on the fire wall. Yours may be different though. Mine is an early '86.

Can you tell where the wire goes after the oblong connector? Does it run down to the o2 sensor?

Default Course of wire

Here is the course of that connector onwards from the original pictures

In this order. The oblong connector connects in short order to the connector on my finger

Then dives into a wiring harness

This is the wiring harness that seems to move towards the front of the vehicle

Okay I can see now, thanks for posting those. I can't say for sure but the color of the wire coming off the loom looks like it might be for the electronic spark control. It would be in that general area of the wiring harness. It's supposed to be a tan color wire and shares that same style connector (as does the o2 sensor, but that would be down lower).
