Default Vibration prob maybe someone could help with..?? (Disregard found a similar thread !!)

Im a new vette owner (Not a new vette, just never owned one before !) I had it about two months. Anyway whenever going over bumps the stearing wheel vibrates. Small bumps, little front end vibration, big bumps, more severe. The tire are stock and in excellent condition as are the shocks..The car has 52000 miles on it..Since I have nothing to compare it to, it maybe normal for the car, is it..?? :cry

Sounds like a tierod end or a sway bar bushing.
Take it to a front end place & have them check it out for you. :chevy

:iagree:

if you jack the front end, and hold each wheel at the 12 oclock and 6 oclock position, and check for excessive play, you may find the problem.

ball joints?

After you jack it up, grab the tire at 12 and 6. If you get play there, your bearings are gone. If you get play in the 3 and 9 position only, then likely your rod ends are shot. If you get play in both directions...

It will be hard to tell if your sway bar busings are gone when you jack it up because when you unload the suspension, the sway bar will be firmly pulled down by the weight. It's very safe to say that you should at the very least, get the main "insulator" bushings for your swaybar. Cheap and an easy fix. My money's on that and the bearings. At 52k, the ball joints and rod ends are likely ok unless they were totally ignored service wise.

If other suggestions here don't solve...check the shocks! They generally crap out at 50K.

Don't have to be leaking oil to be bad
