Default 88' electric schematic help

got an fsm from a member here. Mostly its been right on. Been trying to get the CC to work. I pulled out the IP connector and followed the test procedure.
pages 8A-34-4 as well as the following page,(table 3)?. My problem is at connector D5 (orange wire, wire to grnd.=battery). its at conn. D7? but that could be the
wire to the ECU. BTW, D7 has no power. anybody have correct Elec FSM for this? I will try to post a pic of the errant manual.

My goal is to insure theCC is getting powered. Anybody?
Thanks Always........Bob R

'87 FSM & '88 both show D5 as PNK/BLK , an '89 shows D5 as ORN/BLK. An '87 FSM in 8A-34-4 shows D5 as PNK/BLK (Table 1), '88 in 8A-34-4 does show D5 as ORN (Table 1), '89 FSM 8A-34-4 shows D5 as ORN/BLK (Table 1).

D7 all 3 years LT BLU.

In '88 I believe there was a supplement to Wiring but I don't believe it mentioned any of the cavities you've mentioned.

What color wire do you actually have @ D5

I didn't understand your 'TYPED OVER NOTE' What does it say?

-----------------------------

Need a snapshot of a 'paper' FSM for 8A-34-4 and also 8A-82-10 which should be the IP Connector

@FostersPerformance I believe has an '88 'PAPER' - maybe he'll stop by! Hey @FP do you have the 'paper' Electrical Supplement also?

Bryan @Batee has much information regarding 'CRUISE' & CLUSTER

Im going to take it apart, again. If memory serves, I have orange in the D7 slot.
the D5 slot is different color. I would like to find the LCD fuse and trace it back
please stand by, I will take pics of my connector. I'm confused because the schematic shows
D5 orange, always hot. I do have an orange in D7. Meanwhile the schematic doesn't match my connector Arrghh!

please stand by and thanks

PS, Yes, the trip meter,Fuel Avg. works fine

If it is safe to say D5 is always hot no matter the color, then I will test again!

thanks

What ever you find there 'D5" should certainly be B+ voltage. Anything else would be a 'surprise'.

Cruise control is actually I believe controlled in the cluster and Batee has much information. When you have the cluster in hand it might be interesting to find the GM # on your cluster to see 'IF' for sure your cluster supports K34 'Cruise Control'. I believe all clusters would have an 8 digit # starting with 2505, 2506, 2507 or 2508 maybe?

wow, you are a knowledge base, totally impressed! the X at C10/C14 was a fail. Im guessing I connect those
together then check for OHMS. not sure about the "check TCC/cruise check fix.(see #4).?

As far as vacuum lines, all are new and proven. can/should the engine be running to do this?
I will do those other checks you advised tho!

thank you will go at again

Still no ohms either at connector or at the servo. Starting to suspect the TCC. My fuel mileage is bad, 9.8 gal. Will continue to check.
I WILL get this done

thank you for your help and patience.

together and live test the servo.

stay tuned, got some chores to do first, then back at it.

thank you for patience and help.

Bryan at batee.com is very helpful and knowledgeable with the Atari Dash clusters. He may be able to tell you what to look for on the internal boards to determine if you have a K34 cluster or not. I personally don't have a clue. I know how to change the light bulbs and polarizing film, but that's the extent of my knowledge with them.
I guess thats what ill do,as there are no stickers on the outside

thanks for all your help. the next piece of this puzzle

I thought that likely a person could maybe just confirm some of the 'cavities' on the cluster side of the connector without going into the actually cluster and inspecting the PC's. I've never looked !!!
