Hello all. I have a 85 corvette and I need some help. So after the car sits over night or for an extended period of time, I’ll go to start it but it won’t stay running until the second or third crank. When she’s warmed up and I turn her off for a minute, she’ll fire right up. Also from a dead stop to take off, if I press the throttle she stumbles a bit but after that she’s fine. What do you think it could be? Thanks in advance!
I would be looking at fuel pressure. Does pressure jump to 42 psi.or more when key is turned to run?
No you will need to check out fuel pump relay. Pressure hold for atleast 15 minutes? No check fuel pressure regulator vacuum port.for gasoline. Yes.its bad. No probably internal check valve in fuel pump
Look for dirty MAF sensor. My 86 had a very similar issue with stumbling like you stated
I removed the MAF removed the screens on both front and back and then carefully cleaned it with MAF cleaner. Made a huge difference!
