I have asked about supercharged ZR1's before and have not heard of anyone pulling it off. There is not enough room under the hood supposedly...the LT5 does seem to take up almost all of the room.

I've heard of some folks in Fla working on a vortec zr1 but haven't seen it yet. the most successful zr1 cars had twin turbos, LPE did 4, callaway, mallet, and a german outfit too.

the LPE cars were the "bargain" at 54K, others were 2 to 3 times that price!! not cheap!!

I have alot of details on a twin turbo zr1 project, no one is doing them anymore and LPE won't build anymore due to a contract limitation.

be prepared for some serious costs if you are serious. to start with, you should consider at least a 15K 368 to lower the compression. figure another 20K min on top of that even with some good deals on turbos and fabrication.

the tuning is going to be expensive. it doesn't seem like it should cost this much, but trust me, to do it right, it will be big bucks as no one has a kit.

I've also looked into a hyd operated blower that allows the blower to be mounted anywhere, and you could also probably shoe horn in a vortec if you are willing to relocate lots of ac plumbing and lay down the radiator.

it''s a very tough project any way you slice it, lower the compression as a starting point is big bucks.

contact me if you'd like additional info and thoughts. cya.

Mallet built one a couple of years ago using a Novi 2000. Call them and see if they can get you started.
