Greetings, to all. I’m a relative new Corvette owner and have some repairs to get my 1996 CE up a a couple of levels. Weather seals, left headlight motor gear, clear top has been painted and either needs repainted or buffed clear, shocks I believe are original and air conditioning needs a recharge. Wasn’t looking for a Corvette, it sorta found me and I couldn’t resist because I had given up on ever owning one. I’m 63 and getting in and out of course is not a lot of fun but definitely worth the effort.
Notes on getting in and out though, try not to use the steering wheel as leverage to get out. It puts a strained on the steering wheel adjustment mechanics, something a lot of people do because of the C4's damn high sills.

thx for the recommendation, I have heard that and basically use my elbows on the A&B pillars. The wheel does have what I’d describe as loose spots but not like what I’ve seen in videos showing the result of a bent aluminum knuckle in the column. The rails are a pain but probably be good if you get hit in the side.
Welcome from another CE owner. If your headlight motor gear or "puck" is shot on one side, the other can't be far behind so it probably makes sense to do the both. Sounds like a pretty solid car that just needs a little TLC. Also,
will probably do that, with used car prices as high as they currently are I sold my truck after 3 years and 36000 miles for what I paid for it so this Corvette is my daily driver. When I get around to getting another truck I’ll tackle the headlight motors. Thx for the input
Hi!
I did the headlights myself. The only thing so far that hasn't cost anything.
Mirrock Corvette has a great video on YouTube. Don't buy a kit!
You just need a 7/16 Dia. Piece of round stock (Mirrock uses delrin).
I think I spent 3 hours total. I did both.
