I hate them! Can anyone identify which one I need? I did a search on here and found the amcor website. I can't tell which one I need. It's off a 85 project and I don't have the I'd card. I only have the vin if that matters.
Appreciate the help!
Get a 12 point socket that just won't quite fit over the locking lug nut, pound it on to that nut w/a good hammer....the spin the nut off w/appropriate driver. I use an impact gun. but a typical ratchet will work too.
Auto stores have a few tools that they advertise as locking lug removers, but they are NOT guaranteed to work and they won't let you return them if they don't work.
Tom's method is probably best, and I hope that you only have one locked lug not four so you don't have to lose four sockets. Either way, it's best you ruin four and get the lugs off than buying a useless tool that you can't return.
I tried every socket 12 or 6 point and even tried wedging something in. This one just won't budge. I've gotten these off before, but this one is stubborn. All 4 wheels have them.
In addition, if you tighten the heck out of the lug nuts just left/right of the one you're working on, the additional squeeze on that portion of the wheel nearby will relieve some tension from the locknut. Sometimes it helps, sometimes not....
Thank you all for the replies, but I would like to get the right key. I am not in too much of a hurry to remove it and would prefer just getting the right key.
Take as 'detailed' an image as you can and send it to Amcor. The snapshots in your original aren't what they'll want! Their images in their web presentation do 'expand/zoom' I believe.
I bought a lug nut extractor when I discovered my car did not come with the key.
It reverse threads onto the lug as you try to back it off. Zipped them right off with an impact.
The drawback is you then have to grind flat spots onto the lug, put it in a vice and then spin the impact the other way to get it out of the socket. I guess you could get creative and thread the lug onto a stud with a nut to do the same….

No, not a 6 point.
Use a 12 point. How big a hammer are you using. You'll be hammering the socket on, as if you intend on breaking the socket. If it's a good socket, it probably won't break, but even if it does, it's warrantied.

The socket needed is a 13/16" 12 point, 1/2" drive, deep well and a big "F"in hammer.
I ordered the full set of 21 keys from Amcor. I am always searching for these C4s and often have issues with these locks. 135.00 shipped for a set of 21 keys. Looks like only 10 different ones for the C4 and the rest are probably newer.
Any tire shop has tools to remove these. Go to any auto parts place and buy 4 new ones. Throw the trashed locking lugs away and be done with it. Nobody is stealing our wheels anymore. Dan
PS: If someone wants them for showing I have four with the key.
