Default Running issue

Hi all,

I have been having some rough idle and running issue so I was checking my timing, I unplugged the cable by the bulkhead to do the timing check. This smoothed everything out. The car ran fine.

89 TPI.

Any ideas on why would this happen?

i believe i would start with icm. ignition control module. another possibility being pickup coil down in the shafr of the distributor.

a new distributor would be pricey but would be complete i think

even a used corvette hei would be good

see what others say too

ignition control module
When you unplug the bypass you disconnect the ICM
That should be your issue.
