I just got back from a salvage yard run. I measured two 4l80e output shafts. One measured 1.360 and the other 1.372. From things I've read online the 4L80e slip yoke has a maximum "major" diameter of 1.4". Both of them were 32 spline.
Phobos84,
thank you for taking a look at this. according to Spicer the ZF6 is 1.378 same as there 400 replacement. sounds like you pretty much found the same thing.

C409,
i have heard people have had good luck with just a 1310X joint. i think my main concern is i am running a manual. i know it will hit harder than an auto i just do not have a feel for how much harder.
are you running a 2.5" or 3" shaft?

I'm using a steel 3" shaft with 1350 u-joints. I'm not saying that a 2 1/2" 1310 setup wouldn't work. But according to the place that made mine, the nitrous would have put me way over the spec for a 1310. He said that a 1330 really doesn't offer much better torque capability. So he talked me into the 1350. They were all the same price anyway. It was a little more for the 3" vs the 2 1/2" though. But shipped to my door, the custom steel shaft with forged welded on yokes and Spicer U joints was only $300. That included balancing. And the joints were already installed.
