Default Dash stays completely lit up?

Okay if you look at my previous posts you will notice I'm not the most handy when it comes to these things, I'm trying to learn though. Recently my passenger window got stuck at the bottom, I tore open the door panel and saw that I needed to replace the regulator ribbon, in the process I disconnected a few wires. The next day it didn't start so I took the battery in and I must've drained it really bad cause the people at autozone couldn't even recharge it. Reconnected the wires I thought I disconnected, may have accidently ripped a wire clean off cause it was causing tension between the door and the panel. Eventually put everything back together, with a new battery and it fired up just fine dash and all.

I let it sit for about two days and now when I turn the key it's like I can watch the power flow through the dash and the radio as it turns on and then the dash just stays completely full like gas gauge, mph, revs everything completely full and it won't go away and Im to scared to just drive it to see if that fixes it. Does anyone know what this is?

Here is a link to a video I took of it, might be hard to see because of the sun though

The only thing I can think of is that you may have blown a fuse for the display illumination. Check them all.

What is your battery voltage? Have you tried to start the engine?

This is a concern, if you're battery is draining then I'd worry you created a short in the door somehow. Did you get a new battery? I would check the battery connections and clean them, check grounds and ensure they have no corrosion, especially in the engine bay.

Update on this post, the alternator ended up being bad, which was replaced including its connections. Its only been running for a day but it also got a new battery so it will at least allow me to identify if there is something else wrong with it. The dash still is not working properly however and looks like a technological eldritch horror every time I turn the car on. When I get a chance Im going to drop it off at a specialty shop because I want to knock out a few other problems (Bad shake when in 4th gear overdrive while accelerating, rear main seal leak loses abt 1.5qt a week, fuel gauge always reads full or 3/4 no matter how much fuel I have, passenger window motor track, and anything else he finds) Thanks for the help!

Google Bryan at Batee.com. He will rebuild your Atari dash for approx $250. I just had mine done last month. Many other forum members have used him
