Default Headlight Motors

94 coupe with headlight motors that run for up to 5 seconds following turning on or off headlights and headlights are in stored or operating positions. Is this normal or am I in danger of damaging motors?

Sounds like your bushings are bad.

Go to http://www.ecklers.com and order two sets of 29304 (one for each side, you may as well do both at the same time). They are $5 a set. There is a tech tip here on the forum that will ease the installation.

Mine was doing the same thing and after the bushing install they were back to normal.

BTW, welcome to the Forum! :seeya

It would appear that you might have a faulty Headlight Control Module, or a faulty Relay coil.

..... am I in danger of damaging motors?.......
I'm not sure, but it is not a healthy condition. It should be corrected.

:iagree: Go for the bushings. I don't believe relays come into play at all. There is an electro/mechanical circuit that shuts the motor down when it senses the pressure from the lights being open or closed.

Bad bushings delay this action
