Alright I have a 92 convertable That has a "vibration"noise from underneath. It only happens in drive and idling until it warms up, With the AC running its constant at idle. It sounds like a heat shield. Its hard to troubleshoot without being under the car while its in gear, not a big fan of doing that!
Is there maybe a common issue that any of y'all encountered? Just maybe guidance , being handi-capable, getting under her is rough and really would like some ideas before venturing under.
BTW, I have searched and the FSM has no insight!
Some years ago I diagnosed a noise for a coworker's Honda. The "shop" told her she needed a new transmission. The noise was at 15 to 17 hundred rpm in park or while driving so I was pretty certain it wasn't the transmission. Turned out to be the heat shield around the catalytic converter had rusted around one of the bolts that kept the two halves of the shield in place. I bent the metal enough so the two halves no longer touched and no more noise. Needless to say she was a happy girl that day.
